KIK is an idependent organisation of Catholic intellectuals who play an active role in the Polish society. Between its establishment in 1956 and the fall of communism in Poland in 1989 it was one of the few independent religious organizations behind the "iron curtain". Its members were instrumental in the establishment of Solidarity in 1980, the construction of our independent State, the Republic of Poland, and its civil society.
